Ingredients:
- ½ cup toor Dal (wash well and soak for 20 minutes)
- ½ cup diced raw mango
- 1 cup water
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- ½ tsp chilli powder
For Tadka
- 1.5 tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp jeera
- pinch of hing
- 2 green chilies
- 1 dried red chilli
- 4-5 bay leaves
Fresh Mango Salsa
- ½ a fresh mango
- 1/8th of an onion-diced
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander
- Salt to taste
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- 1 tbsp lime juice
Here is the Process of This Recipe:
- Wash and soak the dal for at least half an hour
- Strain the dal and add it to a pressure cooker with water, raw mango, and turmeric.
- Pressure cooker for 2-3 whistles or until cooked.
- For the tadka, heat the ghee and add jeera, hing, green chillies, dry red chilli and curry leaves.
- Add the dal to the tadka and mix together until well combined, add water if required.
- Finish the dal with salt and chilli powder.
- To make the salsa, mix everything in a bowl like diced mango, raw mango, onion, coriander, lemon juice, chilli powder and salt.
- Assemble it on a pakwan,starting with dal, green chutney and mango juice.
