Ingredients:

  • 500 gm shredded Raw Mango
  • 600 gm Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp mildly crushed Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • A pinch of Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • 1 small piece cinnamon
  • 3 cloves

How to Make Raw Mango Chundo?

  • Take raw mangoes and shred them with a big shredder.
  • In a bowl, take 500 gm of shredded Raw Mango.
  • Add a pinch of turmeric powder and salt, mix, and leave it for 10 minutes; it will start releasing some water.
  • Now add 600 gm Sugar (you may alternatively take jaggery too).
  • Give it a good mix.
  • Leave the mixture for 30 minutes until the sugar melts completely because of the sourness of the mango.
  • Further, heat the pan, and pour in the mango and sugar mixture.
  • Cook it on medium heat for approximately 25 minutes, until the sugar syrup turns thicker and you get 1-string consistency (ek taar chasni).
  • Once cooled down, add cinnamon stick, cloves, Red Chilli Powder, and Cumin Seeds (Jeera).
  • Mix everything well.
  • Sweet and sour Chundo is ready.
  • Keep it in an airtight container and enjoy Chundo for 1 year.
  • Serve this scrumptious Keri No Chundo with Thepla, Puri, Roti, Bhakri, or even with Toasted Bread.

Raw Mango Chundo is not just a chutney; it is a culinary delight that enhances any meal with its burst of flavor. With Meghna's recipes, you can now enjoy the authentic taste of Gujarati cuisine in the comfort of your own home.
