SHAKARKANDI AUR MOONGPHALI KI CHAAT

  • (Sweet Potato & Peanut Chaat)
  • Refrigeration Time: 15 mins or more, as desired
  • Preparation Time: 10 mins
  • Cooking Time: 8 to 10 mins

Ingredients & Quantity:

  • Sweet Potatoes (Shakarkandi , Ratalu), boiled peeled & cubed- 400 gm
  • Raw peanuts with skin, washed & soaked in water for 30 mins & pressure cook in salted water until 2 whistles-100 gm
  • Fresh Pomegranate pearls- ½ cup
  • Fresh Coriander leaves, finely chopped-1 tbsp
  • Green chillies, chopped-4
  • Red chilli powder- ½ tsp
  • Chaat masala- ½ tsp (Opt)
  • Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Rock Salt - to taste
  • Fresh lemon juice- 1/2 tbsp
  • Sweetened whisked curds-1 tbsp
  • Tamarind Jaggery & Date Chutney-1/2 tbsp
  • Green Chutney -1/2 tbsp

For the Garnish:

  • Fresh Coriander leaves (Cilantro), finely chopped-1 /2 tbsp
  • Fresh pomegranate pearls -1/2 tbsp
  • Chiwda-1 tbsp (Opt)

Method:

  • In a large mixing glass bowl add sweet potatoes, peanuts, pomegranate pearls, green chillies & coriander leaves
  • Add the red chilli cumin pwd & rock salt
  • Sprinkle lemon juice
  • Mix well
  • Add sweetened curd , Green & Tamarind chutney
  • Mix well
  • Refrigerate for 15 mins & Serve chilled garnished with coriander leaves pomegranate pearls & chiwda (Opt)
