Moong Dal Palak Dhokla: A Healthy Delight
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Chilka Moong Dal (split green gram)
- 1/4 cup Rice (soaked for 3-4 hours)
- 1 bunch Spinach (blanched)
- Green Chillies (as per taste)
- Small Ginger Knob
- Coriander Leaves
- Salt (as per taste)
- 1 small packet of Fruit Salt (Eno)
- Red Chilli Powder (for garnishing)
- Oil (for tadka)
- Mustard Seeds, Hing (asafoetida), Curry Leaves, Safed Til (white sesame seeds) (for tadka)
- Grated Coconut (for garnishing)
Method To Prepare Moong dal Palak Dhokla:
- In a mixer jar, add soaked moong dal, rice, blanched spinach, green chillies, ginger knob, coriander leaves, and a little water. Grind to a smooth batter.
- Add salt to taste and mix well.
- Grease a plate and keep a steamer ready. Preheat the steamer.
- Add fruit salt (Eno) to the batter and mix gently.
- Pour the batter into the greased plate and sprinkle red chilli powder on top.
- Place the plate in the preheated steamer, cover the lid with a cloth, and steam the dhokla for 20 minutes on high heat.
- Prepare the tadka by heating oil in a pan, adding mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves, and safed til. Let it crackle.
- Cut the steamed dhokla into squares and pour the tadka over it.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut.
- Serve the scrumptious Moong Dal Palak Dhokla with your favourite chutney.
