In an exclusive interview with Whosthat360, chef Meghna opened up about her content creation journey, sharing her experiences and insights on dealing with online trolls. She has also shared her hot take on reality shows.
Excerpts...
What inspired you to start your content creation journey?
I've always enjoyed cooking, and after having my daughter, I found it challenging to balance work and childcare. So, I decided to start creating content around recipes and cooking.
You used to work in the banking sector. How did you transition to content creation?
I worked in the banking sector for 14 years, but after having my daughter, I realized that I couldn't continue working in the same field. I started creating content without any clear idea of monetization or brand collaborations.
How do you deal with negative comments and criticism online?
I try to respond kindly and offer help when possible. I believe that most negative comments come from people having personal issues or jealousy. I've learned not to take it personally and focus on my passion.
What advice would you give to aspiring content creators?
My advice would be to keep your audience engaged and not to stop creating content. Consistency and perseverance are key to building a loyal audience. Also, don't compare yourself with others; focus on your passion and creativity.
How do you stay motivated and inspired?
I get motivated by the love and appreciation from my audience. Seeing the impact my content has on people's lives keeps me going. Plus, I enjoy cooking and creating content around recipes, so it doesn't feel like work to me.
What's your take on culinary-based reality shows?
I think the culinary world is dominated by North Indian cuisine, and it's essential to showcase diversity and different types of cuisine. I believe that the focus should be on the food and the story behind it, rather than just the presentation.
If you had superpowers, what would you do?
I believe I'm already blessed with the superpower of being a woman and a mother. I can multitask, manage my family, and create content that inspires others. I don't need any other superpower!
