Streamline Your Payments: Pooja Patel Introduces UPI Lite Auto Top-Up

Pooja Patel, a financial expert, recently revealed excellent news regarding a new feature in UPI Lite that will simplify and speed up transactions. Starting October 31, NPCI will offer auto top-up services for UPI Lite, allowing users to execute transactions without entering a PIN.

About UPI Lite Auto Top-Up Feature

NPCI is preparing to launch a new function called UPI Lite auto top-up, which will replenish your UPI Lite balance whenever it goes below a certain amount. This functionality attempts to make UPI payments simple and convenient. UPI Lite allows you to top up your balance and use it to make small purchases such as veggies or transportation.

How Will It Work?

Currently, if your UPI Lite balance runs out, you must reload your bank account to continue making payments. The new auto top-up function aims to simplify this procedure by replenishing your UPI Lite wallet when the balance falls below a certain threshold, removing the need for user involvement.

Recently, NPCI announced, “With this new feature, the UPI Lite balance will automatically be reloaded by an amount chosen by the user, not exceeding the UPI Lite balance limit, whenever the balance falls below a minimum limit set by them.”
For example, if you set a minimum amount of Rs 100 and your balance goes below that, it will automatically be topped up from your linked bank account.

Users can add any amount up to Rs 2,000 and make a limit of five transactions every day. Each transaction may be up to Rs 500 without requiring a PIN, making payments for purchases and services faster and easier.

Safety Comes First

The auto top-up feature is designed for safety. With low surcharges, users can feel safe knowing that they are not being overloaded with their UPI Lite wallet.

What to Expect?

NPCI has directed banks to enable this auto top-up feature, and it is expected to be available from November 1, 2024. This means that users will soon have a seamless experience with UPI Lite, making daily transactions even simpler.
