Rishikesh has added a new attraction to its growing list of adventure and spiritual experiences. The much-awaited Bajrang Setu Glass Skywalk, built across the Ganga near the iconic Lakshman Jhoola, is now ready to welcome visitors. Combining stunning river views with an adrenaline-filled walking experience, the bridge is expected to become a major draw for tourists visiting Uttarakhand's yoga capital.

Unique Attraction: A New Way To Experience The Ganga

Bajrang Setu has been constructed near the old Lakshman Jhoola and connects Tapovan in Tehri Garhwal with Jonk in Pauri Garhwal. What makes the bridge special is its glass-floored walkways on both sides, allowing visitors to enjoy breathtaking views of the Ganga flowing beneath their feet.

Built at an estimated cost of ₹60-70 crore, the bridge stretches 132 metres in length and 8 metres in width. While the central section has been designed for two-wheelers, tourists can enjoy the glass skywalk built using multiple layers of 12 mm-thick tempered glass, ensuring both safety and durability.

Entry Fee: What Visitors Will Have To Pay

Visitors planning to experience the glass skywalk will soon be required to pay an entry fee. According to the approved Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), adults will be charged ₹100, while children will need to pay ₹50 for access to the glass pathway.

The state government has approved the SOP, and authorities are expected to begin the tender process before implementing the new fee structure. The charges will help manage operations and ensure visitor safety at the attraction.

Timings And Safety: What Tourists Should Know

According to Praveen Karnwal, Executive Engineer, visitors will be allowed to access the glass footpath between 6 am and 10 pm every day.

"Work on Bajrang Setu is complete. Administration has put an SOP in place for walking on the glass footpath on both sides and how will safety be maintained. So, a tender has been invited under which a charge of Rs 100 per person for 2 hours and Rs 50 for children will be levied. The charges are in place to see that about 48 people will be needed for convenience and safety of people. They will work in 3 shifts...Movement of people on the footpath will be allowed between 6 am to 10 pm. The middle portion made of concrete will be accessible round the clock free of cost..," Karnwal told ANI.

Notably, the bridge's central concrete section will remain open free of cost and accessible 24 hours a day.
