Content creator Anusmita opens up to whosthat360 in an exclusive interview, sharing her unfiltered thoughts on her content creation journey. She also discusses her recent experience working on the short film 'Mecho', offering a candid glimpse into her creative process.

Here are a few edited excerpts of this delightful conversation;

What drew you to the concept of 'Mecho'?

Honestly, the whole idea of making a short film in a reel format with a genre of horror and thriller was quite intriguing. This was something which was really new for the Bengali Content creation market, so yes, the whole idea was really interesting.

How was your experience working with the cast?

It was a wonderful experience. A few of the members of the cast are my friends, and some of them were new actors, but throughout the shoot, it was a wonderful experience. Never did I once feel that we were meeting for the first time or something like that; I have made new friends via this project.

How did you approach the creative process as a co-writer and actor?

I ended up being a co-writer by chance. I didn't know I had it in me as a writer. The concept is my friend's, so while we were discussing this concept, I happened to give some input, which in turn led me to become a co-writer on the project. Coming to the acting bit, I tried to feel the emotion of the character and resonate with it as much as possible so that my acting seems as natural as possible.

What sets 'Mecho' apart from other horror/thriller content?

I think this is something completely new for the Bengali content creation industry. As a part of the project, I can proudly vouch for the fact that the audience is in for a treat and they are about to witness something extraordinarily different because we have put a lot of blood and sweat, whether it's pre-production work or post-production. The Bengal concentration industry has not seen this level of output in this particular genre.

How do you think your content creation experience helped you land your role in 'Mecho'?

The fact that I do character skits in my content, probably that's the reason that helped me land my role in this series.

What's your take on the debate between influencers and actors? As actors say, they are not getting work because of influencers.
I feel we have built our own platforms, connected directly with audiences, and proven we can drive engagement. It's not about replacing actors — it's about adapting to what the industry values now: visibility, relatability, and digital influence.

How do you balance creative freedom with audience expectations in your content?

I always prefer to choose content ideas that are more relevant or day-to-day lives. What characters or skit a piece? I'm doing I make sure there is a touch of a day-to-day aspect in it so that anybody in my audience can relate to it. As soon as the relatability factor comes in, it is easier to connect with the audience and build a strong relationship.

What inspires your storytelling and content creation process?

As a creator, my storytelling is inspired by real emotions, everyday moments, and the need to connect authentically. I draw from personal experiences, current culture, and what resonates with my audience, blending aesthetics with meaning to create content that feels both relatable and impactful.

What advice would you give to aspiring content creators?

The most important advice would be to be genuine. Don't pretend to be somebody else, post consistently, and make content out of the love for art, don't chase numbers. The more number-driven you are, the more difficult it will be for you to grow and enjoy the whole process of content creation.
