Many people believe the Masai Mara Migration only happens between June and October. That's what Google and most travel companies say. But influencer Vidya Ravishanker visited in May and still saw huge herds of animals. After seeing it with her own eyes, she now knows the migration is not limited to just a few months.

Masai Mara Migration Happens All Year

The migration is not just a “seasonal” event. Over a million wildebeest move in a circular path between Kenya and Tanzania. This means animals are always on the move. Vidya saw large herds even in May, which most people don't consider “migration season.”

Because of climate change, animal movement is harder to predict. That's why having a guide who understands wildlife and follows migration patterns is so important. A good guide will take you to where the animals really are.

Not All Animals Migrate

Some animals, like lions, don't migrate at all. They stay in their territory year-round. So you can still see amazing wildlife even outside the “popular” months.

Let Your Guide Pick the Stay

Don't choose your stay before talking to your guide. The camp should be close to where the animals are, not just the most expensive one. It's better to spend money on the right guide than on luxury rooms.
