Popular fitness influencer, Ambika Dutt has opened up about her fitness journey in an exclusive conversation with whosthat360. She has also shared various tips and hacks about fitness, giving a sneak peek into her personal fitness regime.

Here are a few edited excerpts from the delightful conversation,

What is your go-to exercise for a quick energy boost?

Squats, I can do it anywhere, anytime. It's a bodyweight exercise, we don't need any equipment for that. It gives a quick energy boost. I usually do squats in my warm-up.

How do you stay motivated to work out regularly?

1st is obviously to enjoy my cheat meal. And second thing that motivates me is my guilt of not doing the workout. So, whenever I skip my workout, I feel lazy, I don't enjoy food, and even don't get good sleep. 

What is your favorite healthy snack or meal?

My favorite snack is rajma and rice. Rajma is delicious and has protein, calcium, and a lot of other vitamins and minerals.

What is the most challenging fitness goal you've achieved so far?

Handstand without support. I used to do a lot of practice with the wall support and after so much of trials and struggle I achieved this goal.

What is your favorite form of cardio exercise?


Do you prefer working out alone or with a partner?

To be honest. I love working out alone because I can do whatever I want and I can change the exercises in between. 

What is your top tip for fitting exercise into a busy schedule?

See, there should not be a fixed time to do the workout. We should start doing bodyweight exercises like squats, pushups, jumping jacks, body weight, and stretching whenever we get time.

How do you overcome workout plateaus and keep making progress?

There is a simple solution to break plateaus which is a change in workout style, intensity, and the amount of food you are taking. It depends on individual goals. I usually keep on switching different kinds of physical activities, sometimes I book sessions for swimming, badminton, HIIT, etc. 

What is your favorite way to recover and relax after a tough workout?

Stretching and a shower. It helps in better recovery and I feel more energetic the whole day.

What is your favorite way to celebrate a fitness accomplishment?

Obviously, a favourite cheat meal, and sometimes I gift myself branded shoes. 

How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance while prioritizing fitness?

I never skip my workout. As I mentioned before, there should not be a fixed time to do the workout. We can do it anytime in a day.

What is your biggest fitness goal for the future?

Before pregnancy, I achieved the goal of handstand, and post pregnancy my goal is to walk on my hands. 

What is your advice for someone who is just starting out on their fitness journey?

For someone who is just starting his or her fitness journey, the best advice I can give is to stay consistent coz it's the only key to success.
