As many of people have a misconception that they will have to pay customs duty if they bring any item from another country to India. But that's not true at all. So, what is the reality let us know with Monica Malik.

There are different airline regulations for every country including India on electronics items. So, it becomes very important to you to know about the necessary rules and regulations on custom duty. According to Monica, if you are carrying INR 50,000 items excluding Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar then you have to pay custom duty on it. But what about electronic gadgets like- laptops?

Indian Custom Rule on Laptops:

According to the Indian custom pieces of baggage rules you can import 1 laptop, or computer for their personal use only if you are over 18 years old.

Can You Bring More Than 1 Laptop to India?

You can bring 1 laptop to India for personal use under a duty-free allowance. However, if you want to bring a 2nd laptop or computer for personal use, then you have to pay the total value of your items ( including the 2nd laptop) exceeding the standard duty-free allowance.

Indian Custom Rule on Other Gadgets Like- Mobile Phone:

On mobile phones, there is no special allowance, unlike laptops. There is no need to declare either because usually normal mobile phones come under Rs. 50,000. And hence, are allowed under the duty-free allowance. You can also carry 2 mobile phones with you as well.

By understanding custom procedures, individuals can ensure a flawless transition through custom checkpoints. And can easily enjoy a stress-free travel experience and avoid penalties and seizures.
