Diipa Buller Khosla, a name synonymous with fashion, influence, and girl power, has carved a niche for herself in the influencer world. As someone who dared to venture into uncharted territory, her journey speaks volumes about courage and determination. In this real and honest conversation with whosthat360, Diipa gets candid about her inspiring journey, the struggles she has braved, and much more.

If you're looking for a dose of inspiration and a roadmap to influencer fame, then this interview is a must-read!

You must be proud of your journey. Years of hard work, and this is where you are! The younger Diipa would be so proud. Do you ever look back and pat yourself, thinking, 'Wow, I have come far'?

All the time. With every achievement, I find myself reflecting on the journey that got me here. I think the most important thing about success is acknowledging and being grateful for all the little steps that helped me take the big one. I know little Diipa would be smiling from ear to ear with who I turned out to be today.

You recently made a move to Mumbai. How has life been? It takes a lot of thought when you are moving places; this homecoming must be both tough and special.

Life has been phenomenal - it's everything I could ask for. To move to a community where I can enrich my daughter and family with the culture and traditions that made my childhood so special is all I could ever ask for. While it has been challenging to leave friends and family behind in Europe, I only realize now that it made room for new ones and generated gratitude for the old ones.

Your brand, indē wild, is growing impressively. All the efforts are bringing results. But we would like to know the struggles behind the success story. Initially, what roadblocks did you face to start this?

Initially, it was challenging to convince others that my dream, my pitch, was worthy and capable of turning into a reality. It was challenging to speak in front of a room full of investors which, as a South Asian female, meant being the minority. I had times in which I choked or didn't perform 100% to what I believed was perfection, but now I realize every setback is an opportunity to empower myself and push me closer to success.

Influencer, model, entrepreneur, mom, and wife! You have handled all these responsibilities like a boss. How do you manage them all so perfectly? What's the secret?

The secret is to do it and know that there is no such thing as perfect. Let go of these high expectations you hold yourself to because I realized one will eat themselves alive if they continue to think perfection is the only standard worth meeting. Approach your roles with genuineness, sincerity, and grit, and that's the secret to managing them all so 'perfectly'.

Your post on vulnerability some time back received well-deserved appreciation. Did you have second thoughts about sharing that? Many women look up to you; is there something you want to say to them?

Women - you're doing great. You are exactly where you need to be. As women, we are always thinking of how we can do more, be more, say more, but truthfully, if we spend even a quarter of that energy acknowledging what we have done, what we have said, and who we are currently, we can replace all that pressure with pride.

We want to know more about the young Diipa. Can you talk about her? One message you have for her?

She was a dreamer. I remember every week I would come to my parents with a new dream career I was determined to achieve. From pop star to lawyer to scientist, my yearning to achieve everything and anything was something that only amplified as I grew out of being a child. The only difference is now I can confidently say to young Diipa that all those dreams we spent imagining are slowly turning into a reality due to our hard work and sheer determination.

Your Cannes looks were perfect. You have been doing this for 7 years, and it's like perfection every time. The effort you put in is commendable. What excites you the most about it?

I think I always love to put my creativity into my outfits, and what's most exciting is seeing how my followers and the internet react to my vision. I love engaging with my followers and hearing what they think because it inspires me to do better and think more outside the box.

And what would you like to say to those who still question the presence of influencers at Cannes?

Everyone can have diverse opinions, but I think there's something special and humanizing about taking regular-day people and bringing them to Cannes for representation. How many pop stars and magazine covers do you see with females from underrepresented communities? That's why I admire the influencers attending.

Diipa, you have truly represented India globally and beautifully. How proud do you feel when representing India on a global platform? Do you still get jitters while attending Cannes and other international fashion shows?

Honestly, I find it exhilarating and honourable to be able to represent my country at these events. Now I turn the nerves into excitement - those butterflies are what keep me on my toes.

One thing you wish people on social media would stop doing?

I wish we could stop romanticizing perfection and start romanticizing being normal, real people with real emotions and real problems. Our days and our lives are allowed to show the hiccups and mistakes we make. Our 'get ready with me' videos are allowed to show our bad make-up days or lazy makeup routines. Let's start showing our followers who we are more authentically.

There are so many creators today. When you started, this wasn't the career many people would have dared to pick. How difficult or easy was it for you? How do you see the content space today?

It was taking a risk, but a life without taking risks is a life of regret, and that, above all, is the most frightening thing to me - not choosing an unconventional career.

Your mom and husband (Oleg Buller) often make appearances on your social media, and one can see you are a family woman, always close to your family! How has their support helped you?

It's not only helped me but it's made me who I am today. Every achievement and every milestone can be traced back to their support, love, and sheer confidence in me when I lacked it. Their unconditional support to uplift me and push me towards my career goals is something I will forever be grateful for. They are the wind beneath my wings that have enabled me to soar so high.

Lastly, Diipa, any message for those who want to make it big in this field but don't have the courage?

Just do it - take the first leap. Don't think twice. What's the worst that can happen? If you fail, try again. There's no limit to the chances you're allowed to take. You have unlimited opportunities to achieve your dreams. The only way to stop chasing your dreams is if you decide to stop running.
