Shivangi Joshi Reveals Years Of Battling Acne And Insecurities: "I Don't Want To Show My Face..."

Shivangi Joshi recently got candid about her long-standing battle with acne and the insecurities that came with it during a conversation on 'Lock Upp 2'. The television star reflected on how comments about a person's appearance can leave a deep emotional impact, especially for someone who has dealt with skin issues for years.

The discussion took place in the presence of Ram Kapoor and Yogesh, when Shivangi addressed the controversy involving fellow contestant Shreya Kalra. Earlier on the show, Shreya had repeatedly referred to Shivangi as "Annabelle", comparing her to the haunted doll from the popular horror franchise.

Shivangi Opens Up About Hurtful Remarks:

Speaking about the incident, Shivangi admitted that the repeated comments hurt her feelings. She explained that such remarks affected her deeply because she has struggled with acne and skin-related concerns throughout her life.

The 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' fame shared that personal experiences made her empathise with people facing similar challenges, including Shreya when she developed an allergy on her face inside the house.

Reflects On Personal Insecurities:

Recalling the situation, Shivangi said, “When Shreya got an allergy on her face, I tried my best to make her feel comfortable. Somebody who knows how insecure you are about your face… I have had this acne and all these skin problems all my life. I know how insecure I am about all these things.”

She added that she understands how vulnerable people can feel when dealing with visible skin issues and appearance-related insecurities.

“So, I can understand if someone is going through something and feels like, ‘I don't want to show my face.' Then people make fun of my face and my make-up. It's so hurtful,” she said.

Defends Daily Soap Performers:

Apart from addressing comments on her appearance, Shivangi also expressed disappointment over remarks allegedly made by Shreya and Shilpa regarding television daily soaps.

“Even when they were talking about Harshad and daily soap acting, I was like, ‘Is doing daily soaps a bad thing?' You are also from daily soaps,” she said, before adding that Shreya had herself mentioned facing multiple unsuccessful auditions.

Trolls Had Targeted Her Earlier:

Shivangi has previously faced trolling on social media over visible acne marks during several episodes of the iconic television show 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'. Over the years, she has continued to speak openly about self-acceptance and confidence despite facing criticism.
