Munawar Faruqui's Heartfelt Anniversary Wish for Wife Mehzabeen Coatwala

It's been a year since stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui and Mehzabeen Coatwala got married. The couple tied the knot on May 26 last year in a private ceremony, which was attended only by their family members and closest friends. Although they kept the wedding low-key, a few photos from the event had surfaced online. In one of the pictures, the two were seen cutting a cake together.

Now, to mark their first anniversary, Munawar shared a heartfelt message on Instagram Stories. He posted a loving selfie with Mehzabeen and wrote, “Alhmdulillah 1 year!" In the photo, the couple could be seen smiling. Along with it, he called Mehzabeen his “life."

Munawar on His Marriage: 

Recently, Munawar spoke about his wedding during a podcast with Sana Khan. He shared that he never believed in spending too much on weddings. “Dahej mat dijiye, don't overspend on weddings," he said as quoted by Bollywood Shaadis. He further explained that he often meets people who say they are saving up for their children's weddings. But for him, keeping it simple was important.

Munawar added, “Mujhe ab dar lagta hai, agar kisi ki nazar lag gaye toh. Hum dono ko kisika nazar lag gaye toh. Mereko nazar se jitna darr lagta hain, utna maut se nahi hain. Aab aisa hi ho gaya hain."

"I Wanted Stability..."

Talking more about his life with Mehzabeen, Munawar said that things feel different. He shared that last year during Ramadan, he was exhausted and just wanted to settle down. “I was tired of feeling lost. I wanted stability," he said.

According to him, destiny gave him exactly what he had been wishing for. “I am so blessed. I never imagined I would find a partner like this," he said. He further described Mehzabeen as a “puzzle piece that was missing" from his life.

In the same podcast, Munawar revealed something unexpected about the days leading up to his wedding. Just one week before his big day, he was hospitalised due to intestinal issues. He was admitted for two days and wanted to be discharged quickly. “I told them, ‘It's my wedding tomorrow!'" he recalled. Though the doctors didn't let him leave immediately, they did advise him not to eat anything. "I agreed, I was like okay, but I have to go," he recalled.

Before marrying Mehzabeen, Munawar was married to Jasmine. The former couple shares a seven-year-old son named Mikael. On the professional front, Munawar is preparing for his acting debut with the upcoming series First Copy.
