Comedian and rapper Munawar Faruqui has spoken out about the ongoing controversy involving comedian Pranit More. While Munawar agreed that the comments made during the stand-up show were wrong, he said the criticism has now gone too far.
Sharing a video on Instagram, Munawar said everyone should stop attacking Pranit continuously. According to him, the comedian has already suffered enough because of the incident.
"There Should Be A Limit," Says Munawar
In his video, Munawar said that both the comments made during the crowd-work segment and the discussion around them were problematic. He also mentioned that he did not agree with the woman's remarks that became part of the controversy.
However, he stressed that there should be a limit to public criticism. Munawar pointed out that Pranit has already faced serious consequences, including legal action, loss of work opportunities, and damage to his public image.
Pranit More Has Already Faced Consequences
Munawar said that an FIR has been filed; Pranit's career has been affected, and his reputation has taken a major hit. He urged content creators and social media users to stop using the controversy for views and engagement.
He added that legal authorities will handle the matter according to the law, but the constant online attacks should come to an end.
Munawar's Earlier Dig At The Controversy
Before calling for restraint, Munawar had indirectly mocked the controversy through social media posts.

In one post, he joked about searching for the world's most expensive biryani and finding Pranit More as the answer. In another, he remarked that comedians may soon need lawyers to review their content before releasing it.
His comments were widely seen as criticism of the incident and the style of comedy that relies heavily on audience interactions.
What Is The Rs. 370 Biryani Controversy?
The controversy began during one of Pranit More's stand-up comedy shows. During a crowd-work interaction, a 23-year-old audience member, Himanshu Jangra, shared that he spent Rs 370 on chicken biryani during a date and expected something in return.
The remarks quickly went viral on social media and were criticised by many people for promoting a problematic mindset. Pranit was also criticised for encouraging the discussion as part of the comedy act.
FIR, Job Loss And NCW Action
Following the backlash, Pranit More issued an apology and later deactivated his social media accounts.
Meanwhile, Himanshu Jangra lost his job at Starvik Design after the controversy gained attention. The Maharashtra Cyber Police registered a case against Pranit More, while the National Commission for Women (NCW) summoned both Pranit and Himanshu over the controversial remarks.
