Meghna, a food influencer, shares her special recipe for "Gunda Ki Sabzi," a unique and delicious dish available only during the summer season. This traditional Indian dish is made with the fruit of the gunda tree, which is known for its numerous health benefits. How to make Gunda Ki Sabzi:

  • Take 200–250 gm Gunda
  • Wash and dry nicely
  • Remove seeds from Gunda with help of knife dipped in salt (Gunda's seeds are very sticky)
  • In a bowl, take grated medium-sized raw mango
  • Add 2 tbsp. roasted besan (gram flour)
  • Add salt, 1/2 tsp. Turmeric Powder (haldi powder), 3 tsp. dhaniya powder, 2 tsp. chilli powder, and 1 tsp. garam masala
  • Add a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
  • Add 2 tsp. sugar or jaggery (Gur)
  • Mix everything well & stuff the mixture inside Gunda
  • Now, in a pan, take 2 tsp. oil
  • Once oil gets heated, add 1 tsp mustard seeds (rai ke daane), 2 tsp white sesame seeds (til), &hing (asafoetida)
  • Once rai and sesame seeds crackles, add stuffed gunda
  • Gently Toss Gunda in tadka (do not vigorously stir)
  • Cover with the lid & let Gunda cook on slow to medium flame for 15-20 minutes OR till Gunda becomes soft and tender (the color of Gunda will change)
  • In between, stir 2-3 times
  • Once Gunda is done, garnish with coriander
  • If you want some gravy, you can always add well-beaten curd after turning off the gas
  • Best enjoyed with Roti, Paratha, & highly recommended with Khakhra.
