Ingredients:

  • 1 cup-soaked yellow moong dal
  • ½ cup soaked urad dal
  • ½ cup chana dal
  • salt to taste
  • 10-12 green chillies

For Mooli Laccha:

  • 2 radish
  • lemon juice

For the Chutney:

  • 1 bunch coriander
  • ½ bunch mint
  • 3-4 green chillies
  • 3 tbsp chopped radish leaves
  • 2 small size ginger
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • oil to fry

Method:

  • Soak the dal for at least 4 hours and drain them.
  • Grind dal with salt and add little water.
  • Beat the dal till light and fluffy.
  • Drop a bit of dal in a bowl full of water to check the batter is ready or not. If it floats on top the batter is ready.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add walnut size balls of batter to medium hot oil and fry till golden.
  • Remove them on a tissue paper and also dip some green chillies in the batter to fry as well.

Mooli Laccha Method:

  • Grate the radish.
  • Add some lemon juice and chopped radish leaves.

Chutney Method:

  • To make the chutney, grind together the mint leaves, coriander leaves, radish leaves, green chillies, lemon juice and salt to taste.

How to Serve:

  • To serve, place the grated mooli in a bowl, keep the fried balls on top with green chutney and a fried green chilli.
