Monalisa Calls Goa Her 'Happy Place'; Reveals Favourite Travel Ritual

For Monalisa, Goa is much more than a holiday destination. Over the years, the coastal state has become a special retreat where she and her husband, Vikrant Singh Rajpoot, escape the hustle and bustle of Mumbai and create cherished memories together.

Monalisa recently opened up about her love for Goa, sharing how the destination has slowly turned into a regular part of their lives. From birthday celebrations to discovering hidden cafés and exploring the city on a scooty, every visit brings a new experience for the couple.

Goa Was Never In Their Travel Plans:

Interestingly, Goa was not always among Monalisa and Vikrant's preferred travel destinations. She revealed that people were often surprised to learn that the couple had never visited the popular tourist hotspot.

"Everyone used to be surprised that we hadn't been to Goa. A few years ago, Vikrant and I finally visited, and after that we just kept going back. Now we visit Goa four to five times a year," she says.

What started as a one-time visit soon became a tradition, with the couple making multiple trips to the state every year.

Goa Is Their Happy Place:

According to Monalisa, Goa's laid-back atmosphere and delicious food keep drawing them back. Being non-vegetarians, both she and Vikrant enjoy exploring the wide range of seafood dishes available there.

"I really like the culture there, especially the food. We both are non-vegetarians, so we get amazing seafood and fish. Every visit feels relaxing in a different way," she shares.

Monalisa also pointed out how Goa's proximity to Mumbai makes it the perfect destination for a quick break from routine.

"It's so close to Mumbai that we can just pack our bags and leave. I completely unwind there. The atmosphere lets you loosen up and just be yourself. Sometimes, when you need a quick getaway and can't plan an international trip, Goa is the best option," she adds.

Favourite Memories Together:

Among their many trips, Monalisa says some of her most memorable moments have come from simple experiences.

"We celebrated Vikrant's birthday in Goa last year. Every time we go, we discover a new café or restaurant. One thing we always do is hire a scooty. Exploring Goa together on two wheels is the best part of the trip. Those are the memories that stay with you," says Monalisa.

Known for her work in over 100 Bhojpuri films and popular television shows such as 'Nazar', 'Namak Issk Ka', 'Bekaboo' and 'Bigg Boss 10', Monalisa continues to enjoy balancing her busy schedule while making time for the destination that has become her favourite escape.
