Travel influencer Larissa D'Sa shares her first impressions of Lakshadweep, a place she always knew was stunning, but experiencing its magic up close left her overwhelmed in the best way possible. Landing in Agatti feels like stepping directly into a postcard: sparkling turquoise waters, skies that look airbrushed, and coconut trees stretched tall like nature's warm welcome.
First Stop: Agatti, the Blue Paradise
The moment Larissa arrived in Agatti, she knew this was no ordinary island. The waters look almost unreal, painted in layers of baby blue, teal, and crystalline turquoise, and believe it or not, this jaw-dropping view sits just 300 metres from the airport.
She describes Agatti as the kind of place where time slows down instantly. The skies remain impossibly clear, the beaches glow under the sun, and every coconut tree seems to sway as if greeting you personally.
Journey to Kavaratti: The Heart of the Dive Trip
While this trip is all about diving, Day 1 was reserved for simply getting there, and that itself turned into an adventure.
Larissa flew from Mumbai to Kochi, and then took the stunning Kochi-to-Agatti flight, famous for its views of the lagoon.
The next leg, however, was not as seamless. She boarded a boat from Agatti to Kavaratti, a 6‑hour ride through choppy waters, which she definitely does not recommend.
For future travellers, she points out better and faster alternatives:
- Chopper (15 minutes)
- Speed boat (2 hours)
- Ferry (2 hours)
These options save time and spare you from unpredictable waves.
The Promise of What's Coming:
Day 1 sets the tone, with breathtaking views, island warmth, and a sense of anticipation. With Kavaratti being one of Lakshadweep's most beautiful lagoons and a diver's paradise, Larissa hints that the next few days will be all about underwater magic, island stories, and sun-soaked bliss.
