Urvashi Rautela has reacted to reports claiming she ‘blocked' a staircase at the Cannes Film Festival for her photoshoot, which disrupted others. On Tuesday, the actress issued a statement and slammed ‘cowardly lies' being spread against her. She claimed that she had permission for a photoshoot at the designated staircase and bashed those “thriving only on venomous attacks against hardworking outsiders who dare to shine".

“My team secured full permission for a photoshoot on a designated staircase, as did others, in strict adherence to every rule of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, which I honour with unwavering respect," a part of Urvashi's statement read.

She further slammed “baseless narratives" and called it an attempt to target people like her, who “elevate India's pride on the global stage". “My charisma, forget through relentless dedication and international acclaim, remains untouchable," Urvashi added.

Did Urvashi Block Stairs At Cannes?

Just a few days back, a video from the Cannes 2025 surfaced on social media, in which Urvashi was seen unintentionally causing a red carpet-style traffic jam. The video showed Urvashi draped in a gold embellished gown with dramatic cape sleeves. Dressed in an elaborately embellished gown, Urvashi planted herself firmly on a grand hotel staircase for a full-blown photoshoot. Guests were standing awkwardly behind her, unable to descend the stairs without accidentally photobombing her moment.

Instead of noticing the growing queue behind her, featuring confused, mildly amused, and very patient guests, Urvashi continued to pose as her photographer clicked away. One guest even smirked, possibly wondering if this was some bizarre performance art.
