After facing a severe backlash over an episode from his YouTube show 'India's Got Latent', stand-up comic Samay Raina removed all episodes from the platform and promised full cooperation with authorities investigating the incident. Despite the intense criticism, Samay appears to have moved on. He recently announced a fresh lineup of international gigs, signaling a new chapter in his career.
Samay Raina On Kids Watching His Content:
Now, a podcast from January has resurfaced, where Samay can be heard discussing the responsibilities of influencers and drawing a sharp line when it comes to what children consume online. The clip has gone viral for his strong opinions about parenting in the digital age.
“Do you think a person like me has a responsibility not to drink Coke and not to be myself? I drink Coke at home, do you think I should fake it in public places and promote drinking water instead?" he asked health content creator Revant Himatsingka, popularly known as Food Pharmer.
"Their Parents Have Failed..."
When the podcaster replied, "Yes, I think it will leave an impression on kids 8-10 years of age," Samay responded sharply, "If someone as young as eight to ten years old is watching me, then their parents have failed."

He added, “When I was that age, my father would beat me if I watched television. I didn't watch television then. I never got influenced by all this and I really think he did a great job as a father. So, the parents are the ones who need to be responsible and not me. I have to be myself. If I want to influence people to do something, it is just to be honest."
Samay Defends His Dark Humour:
Defending his raw, unfiltered style, the comedian continued, “There are too many fake people in this world. The public gets depressed when they see someone so perfect, doing and saying all the right things, it attacks your confidence, and you start to question yourself, ‘Is there anything wrong with me?' Then comes a guy like me, just being myself, drinking Coke, saying wrong things. They be like, ‘You know what? It's okay to be me, because this is who I relate to."
Earlier this year, Samay landed in major controversy when an old episode of 'India's Got Latent' resurfaced, featuring a disturbing question posed by podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia. “Would you rather watch your parents have s*x every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?" he asked a contestant. The clip triggered massive outrage, leading to multiple FIRs filed against the panelists.
