Mira Rajput Reveals She Deleted Her Facebook Account Before Marrying Shahid Kapoor: "I Was Scared..."

When Shahid Kapoor announced his arranged marriage to Mira Rajput, a Delhi-based girl, fans, media, and social media went into overdrive, trying to uncover everything about her. The sudden spotlight pushed Mira to take drastic action, even before the wedding.

"I Had This Fear Someone Would Hack My Account"

In a recent appearance on the Moments of Silence podcast, Mira Rajput Kapoor opened up about stepping into the limelight at just 20. One of the first things she did before tying the knot. Deleting her Facebook account.

Explaining her decision, Mira said she was overwhelmed by the attention. “I suddenly got some 3000 friend requests,” she recalled. “At that time, 3000 felt like the whole world. I was scared someone would hack into my account and see pictures of me from when I was 15, maybe at a party, and judge me for what I was wearing."

"It Was Quite Isolating After The Wedding"

The transition from Delhi girl to Bollywood star wife wasn't all glitz and glamour. Mira spoke candidly about the emotional challenges of moving cities and adapting to life with a public figure.

“It was quite isolating,” she admitted. While outsiders perceived her journey as a fairytale, Mira said the reality was much quieter and lonelier. She shared how growing apart from her friends during that period made things harder. “We evolved separately. I'd see my friends and think—I wish I could do what she's doing.”

Mira And Shahid's Marriage:

Mira and Shahid had an arranged marriage. While Shahid liked her from their first meeting, Mira took around six months to say yes to the marriage. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in 2016 and named her Misha. They became parents for the second time in 2018 when they welcomed son Zain into their lives.
