Italian fashion found a contemporary expression at Lakmé Fashion Week 2026 as Avant Toi, LeoDean and UnbreakIT showcased collections built around craftsmanship, texture and artistic experimentation. Presented by the Italian Trade Agency with Confartigianato and FDCI, the showcase, titled 'Eccellenza: The Artisans of Italian Style', brought three different interpretations of Italian design to the New Delhi runway.
Avant Toi Explores Texture And Memory:
Avant Toi presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, 'Traces of Memory', drawing inspiration from nature and the ancient Salt Roads connecting the Ligurian coast, Alps and Provence.
Founded by Fiorella and Mirko Ghignone, the label is known for experimentation with cashmere and silk. Its latest collection played with raw-cut fabrics, basketry-inspired cashmere gauzes, floral raffia embroidery and unconventional dyeing techniques. Mediterranean-inspired colours and weathered-looking prints brought together a sense of nature, memory and artistic imperfection.

Leodean Embraces Fluid Silhouettes:
LeoDean, led by Olivia and Natalia Beach, took a more understated Mediterranean route. Inspired by the relationship between land and water, the collection focused on fluid silhouettes, transparency and tactile textures.
Prints referenced reflections on water and shifting natural light, while mineral neutrals, aquatic shades and sun-faded tones shaped the colour story. The result was a wardrobe centred on movement and versatility, with designs intended to transition from daytime dressing to evening looks.
UnbreakIT Turns Art Into Fashion:
UnbreakIT explored the movement of light through its collection 'Dall'Alba alla Notte', which translates to “from dawn to night”. Founded by artist Silvano Negri, with Giorgia Both leading creative direction, the label translated artistic ideas into printed silk and fluid jersey pieces.

Inspired by the sea and changing sky, the collection moved through luminous sand shades and rippling blues before arriving at deeper evening tones. The progression gave the runway a visual narrative based on the different moods of a single day.
Together, the three collections put materials, silhouettes, colour and craftsmanship at the centre, offering distinct approaches to contemporary Italian fashion at Lakmé Fashion Week 2026.
