Couple Ditches ₹35 LPA Corporate Careers, Reveals Earning Over ₹1 Crore Through Social Media

A couple who left their well-paying tech careers to pursue content creation full-time has revealed how the decision transformed their finances. Muskaan Mittal and Aashish Gupta recently shared an Instagram video detailing their journey from corporate professionals to successful content creators, along with a year-by-year breakdown of their earnings.

The duo, known for their travel-focused content, began their creator journey in 2023 after one of their travel videos gained unexpected attention online.

Career Shift:

Before entering the creator economy, both Muskaan and Aashish were working in the technology sector. Speaking about their previous careers, Aashish said, “Before content, we both worked in tech. I was a Data Analyst, and my in-hand salary was ₹12 lakhs per year.”

Muskaan added that she worked as a software developer and earned an annual salary of ₹23 lakh. Together, the couple had a combined income of ₹35 lakh per year before making the leap into content creation.

Content Creation Journey:

Their content creation journey started after documenting a trip to Vietnam, which received more than 20,000 views online. Encouraged by the response, they continued creating content centered on travel, while also sharing insights on relationships, health, and lifestyle.

Reflecting on their experience, the couple said, “We have been content creators for the last 3 years and have received thousands of DMs on how we afford this lifestyle, so here is everything we've learned.”

Their first paid collaboration came in October 2023 and earned them ₹15,000.

Income Growth:

Despite creating content part-time in their first year, the couple generated a notable income.

“We started making content in May 2023 and got our first paid collaboration in October for ₹15,000. We were still doing this part-time, and we ended up making ₹6.5 lakhs that year,” they shared.

In 2024, Muskaan and Aashish quit their jobs and focused entirely on content creation. They also expanded their revenue streams through affiliate marketing and hosting group trips.

“In Year 2, we signed up with an agency, and money actually started flowing in. We also started earning through affiliates and hosted our first-ever group trip. That year, we made around ₹45.3 lakhs,” said Muskaan.

Biggest Success:

Their biggest breakthrough came in 2025 when their earnings crossed the ₹1 crore mark.

“Year 3 was our biggest yet. We left the agency because we felt undervalued there. We talked to other creators and built platform monetization on YouTube and Facebook. We sold our first digital product, kept on doing affiliates, and also did one group trip. That year, we made ₹1.09 crore,” Aashish claimed.

The couple further revealed that they earned ₹21.6 lakh in the first four months of the current year alone. However, they clarified that the figures shared in the video do not include expenses associated with running their content business.
