'Lock Upp 2' is heading towards its grand finale, but one contestant continues to dominate conversations even after her exit. Content creator Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid, has opened up about her controversial stint on the reality show, claiming that creating drama and sparking conflicts was part of the role she was assigned.
Apoorva entered the show as the Jailor's informer and quickly became one of the most talked-about contestants. Her arrival led to several arguments and confrontations, earning her both attention and criticism from viewers. Now, she has addressed the backlash and shared her side of the story.
Contract Stopped Her From Responding:
Currently vacationing in Ibiza, Apoorva took to Instagram Stories and revealed that she could not react to the criticism while the show was airing because of contractual obligations. According to her, she was not allowed to disclose that she had already been eliminated from the show.
“Tum logon ne mujhe itni zyada gaali di hai and I couldn't post because I was under contract ki I can't show that I am out of the show. Mera kaam tha ungli karna, mera kaam tha jaake logon se ladayi karna. (You all abused me so much, and I couldn't post anything because I was under contract and wasn't allowed to reveal that I was out of the show. My job was to go around and pick fights)," she said.
Her statement has reignited discussions about how reality shows are structured and the extent to which contestants are assigned specific roles.
‘I Got Paid To Do It':
Apoorva also claimed that her primary responsibility inside the house was to create conflict among contestants. She explained that when participants were unwilling to engage in arguments, she had to step in and initiate confrontations herself to keep the drama going.
“I tried so hard to create conflicts between contestants… Nobody wanted to fight. It was my job, and I got paid to do it. I couldn't not do it. So, when no one else was fighting, I had to go and fight with people because that usually creates a ripple effect," she said.

Summing up her experience, she added, “You can love me or hate me. I got my fat cheque, I got my reels, and I'm in Ibiza!"
Denies Chasing Screen Time:
One of the biggest allegations levelled against Apoorva was that she deliberately picked fights to gain more visibility on the show. However, the influencer strongly denied the claim, arguing that her position as the informer's role already guaranteed her screen presence.
“Mujhe kisise bhi footage khane ki zarurat nahi hai. Because agar unhone mujhe 5 din ke liye show mein daala hai, to get their cost back, unhe mujhe dikhana padega," she said.
She further explained that whatever she did inside the house was bound to feature in the episodes because the storyline revolved around her entry and role.
Picks Her Winners:
Apart from discussing her own journey, Apoorva also revealed who she would like to see lifting the trophy. Showing support for fellow contestants, she wrote, “Fully think my girl Shreya or Shilpa should win the show.”
Hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan, 'Lock Upp 2' features contestants including Shreya Kalra, Shilpa Shinde, Ram Kapoor, Harshad Chopda and Shivangi Joshi. The winner of the season will take home a cash prize of ₹1 crore.
