Aly Goni Faces Backlash For Not Chanting 'Ganapati Bappa Morya' At Ganesh Utsav

Even Jasmine, standing next to him, appears to urge him to join in. Yet, Aly refrains from chanting. The moment quickly caught the attention of netizens, sparking a flurry of reactions.

Soon after the video surfaced, social media users were divided in their opinions. While some criticised Aly for not joining the chant, suggesting he should not have attended the celebration if he was unwilling to participate fully, others defended him, noting that his mere presence showed respect for the festival.

Another clip from the same event further fuelled the debate. In it, Aly, dressed in a traditional ethnic outfit, is seen posing for the paparazzi alongside Jasmine and actress Nia Sharma. When photographers enthusiastically chanted, “Ganpati Bappa," almost everyone around responded with “Morya." Aly, however, once again chose to remain silent.

On social media platform X, criticism poured in from some users. One comment read, “He is not a good man. Jasmin is after him I don't know why??" Another user remarked, “Itna uncomfortable feel ho raha h toh aaya kyu, Jasmin ko sochna chahiye."

At the same time, many defended him, underlining the importance of personal choice.

A user commented, “What's wrong with people? Is chanting the only way to respect God? Can't we see how he is enjoying the festival? Stop bullying people in the name of religion."

This is not the first time Jasmine and Aly's interfaith relationship has attracted public attention and unsolicited opinions.
