- He describes shooting Jawan as his 'worst experience ever'
Viraj Ghelani is an actor, comedian, content creator, and social media influencer best known for his comic videos. He maintains the YouTube channel That's So Viraj, where he posts amusing videos about everyday situations. Viraj has participated in popular television series such as Little Things and What The Folks, as well as films such as Govinda Naam Mera starring Vicky Kaushal and Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan. However, in a recent interview, he described his time working on Jawan as the "worst experience" of his career.
Mistreatment on Set
In a conversation with The Having Said That Show, Viraj talked about how he was mistreated while filming Jawan. He played a cop in the movie and felt that only the big stars received special treatment. He shared his thoughts, saying, “Why did I do it? People are very sweet who watched the film for me that I watched your part. But it was my worst experience ever. Because see, the thing is… they don't consider you because they have Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh Khan and two Shah Rukh Khans and all those things. The work culture was ‘yahan khada ho ja, yeh kar le' (stand here, do this).”
Issues with Props and Dialogue
Viraj recounted a specific incident involving a prop gun. In a scene where he was supposed to have a gun, he asked about it when the shot changed, but was told to wait. “I was like, okay. But the gun never came,” he explained. He had hoped for better dialogue and treatment during his time on set.
Disappointment in Final Cut
Viraj also mentioned how he shot for 10 days in the hot May sun at Madh Island, working from noon to 6 PM. However, he discovered that only footage from his first day was used in the final film, despite him working for 15 days. He felt that the filmmakers cast creators and influencers just for their popularity, rather than appreciating their actual contributions.
Viraj's experience on Jawan highlights the challenges faced by many actors, especially those who are still making a name for themselves in the industry.
