Munawar Faruqui Slams Nonsense Logic' Behind His Elimination From 'The Traitors 2'

Munawar Faruqui's journey in ‘The Traitors 2' came to an unexpected end within the first few episodes, leaving both fans and the comedian disappointed. Known for winning reality shows like ‘Lock Upp' Season 1 and ‘Bigg Boss 17', Munawar entered the game with a strong reputation. However, that very reputation, according to him, worked against him from the start.

In a recent interview, Munawar opened up about his early elimination, sharing why he believes fellow contestants targeted him almost immediately after the show began.

Munawar Felt Targeted From Day One:

Reflecting on his exit from the reality series, Munawar claimed that many contestants had already made up their minds about him because of his popularity and previous success in competitive shows. “I was on an even bigger level than a Traitor on that show. That's why all of them decided to eliminate me first," he said.

According to Munawar, his name frequently came up in conversations inside the game, with some contestants allegedly viewing him as a threat to their own visibility and chances of survival. “Har jagah mera naam aa raha tha, everyone was talking about me. Some even thought they would not get footage because of Munawar," he recalled.

The comedian admitted that what hurt him the most was the reasoning provided by other contestants during the voting process. “They were giving nonsense logic. Shehnaaz Gill also gave some example of a Traitor while comparing me, which was the worst thing. There was no logic at all in the way they were trying to oust me," he said.

Munawar further shared that he was upset because he had entered the show eager to prove himself as a strong player. “Everyone was talking about me. I was very upset because I wanted to play the game and that too, very well. Bhale main jeetu ya na jeetu, but I was hurt about getting evicted in the first episode itself. Bahut bharosa toota mera."

Strategy Against Mallika Sherawat:

Before his elimination, Munawar had attempted to shift the vote towards Mallika Sherawat. He explained that her behaviour stood out to him and that she had already formed a close-knit group within the competition. “Mallika's behaviour was so different than the others and her name was anyway coming up all the time. She had also formed a group of her own of five-six people in the game and I knew they were going to target me," he said.

Munawar clarified that he was not convinced Mallika was a Traitor, but believed eliminating her would improve his own chances in the game. “I was trying to convince people to vote her out even though I wasn't sure about her being a Traitor. I thought it was easier for me to stay in the game if I threw her out."

Karan Johar's Professional Approach:

Speaking about host Karan Johar, Munawar revealed that there was minimal interaction between the contestants and the filmmaker outside what viewers saw on screen. “What you see on screen is the exact amount of time we all spent with him. No extra hi or hello. He was very professional," he said.

He added, “It makes sense also because of the role he was playing in the game."

While Munawar's stint on ‘The Traitors 2' was short-lived, his comments have sparked fresh conversations among fans, many of whom continue to debate whether the comedian was eliminated because of strategy, popularity, or fear of competition.
