Popular comedian Samay Raina has made a strong comeback on YouTube with his latest stand-up special Still Alive, after the controversy around India's Got Latent. The special has become the most-watched full-length stand-up comedy special in the world on a single upload, crossing 53.4 million views on YouTube.
Record Breaking Success
Still Alive was released on April 7 and received massive attention right from the start. It crossed 22 million views within the first 24 hours, and its popularity kept growing globally.
Samay even shared a post on Instagram Stories celebrating this achievement, which described his journey as turning a major controversy into a record-breaking comeback.
A Comeback After Controversy
In 2025, Samay faced backlash after comments made by Ranveer Allahbadia on his show sparked nationwide criticism. Due to the controversy, Samay removed all episodes of India's Got Latent from YouTube. With Still Alive, he directly addressed the situation, including the legal issues, public criticism, and financial stress he went through.

Honest and Personal Performance
Calling it his most real work, Samay said, “Still Alive is the most honest thing I have ever made. I owe every view to the people who never supported me.” In the special, he revealed that the controversial joke was said multiple times during the show, but only one part was kept, which led to the outrage. He also spoke about how the entire situation affected his mental health and how some people tried to gain attention during the controversy.
Mentions Criticism and Future Plans
Samay also mentioned criticism from Mukesh Khanna, who had openly spoken against him and Ranveer. Despite everything, Samay hinted that India's Got Latent might return with a second season in the future.
With Still Alive, Samay Raina has turned a difficult phase into a major success. His honest storytelling and fearless comedy have connected with audiences worldwide, making his comeback truly remarkable.
