Comedian Samay Raina appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) following backlash over an episode of his YouTube show 'India's Got Latent'. The controversy erupted after guest Ranveer Allahbadia's comments about parents and sex went viral, sparking strong public reactions and multiple police complaints.
Samay Raina Apologizes to the NCW:
In a meeting with NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, Samay Raina submitted a written apology expressing regret for the content shared during the episode.
As per an official update, the Chairperson made it clear to the comedian that it is very important to maintain the highest respect and sensitivity of women in human rights forums. She asked Raina to come out with such a statement of rights in the future as well as create creative content to raise awareness on the dignity and rights of women.
Respecting the Commission's concerns, Raina gave his assurance to do so. “Samay Raina, respecting the orders of the Commission, gave the assurance to maintain this, stating this assurance would go a long way in ensuring the dignity and respect of women."

The NCW also shared its broader mission in this context. The National Commission for Women believes that it is the responsibility of all social workers to encourage greater respect and sensitivity for women in society.
This incident forms part of the Commission's continued efforts to hold digital creators accountable and ensure media platforms reflect sensitivity toward women's rights.
About the Case:
The episode triggered widespread outrage after clips circulated online, with police complaints filed against Ranveer Allahbadia and others associated with the show in Mumbai and Guwahati. Both the Mumbai Police and the Cyber Cell launched separate probes to investigate the remarks made during the show.
Five social media influencers, including ‘India's Got Latent' host Samay Raina, on Tuesday appeared before the Supreme Court in a case seeking action against them for ridiculing persons suffering from disabilities. A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi recorded the presence of the social media influencers and asked them to file their replies to the petition.
