Riddhima Kapoor Responds to Backlash for Calling Maheep 'Aunty': "That's So Stupid..."

Social media sensation and entrepreneur Riddhima Kapoor has been making headlines with her appearance on the show 'Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives'. Riddhima has reacted to the backlash that she got for calling jokingly calling Maheep Kapoor, 'aunty'.

"So, If I Had Called Her Aunty..."

Speaking to Koimoi, she said, "If someone is writing seriously that Kalyani, you know, you are looking old—that's a serious comment. But when somebody's pulling a friend's leg, like I did with Maheep, it's different. Maheep and Sanjay were actually originally my chacha's friends, right? So if I had called her aunty, it was all in fun."

She added, "Friends don't do that? They pull each other's leg, no? But people were like, ‘No, why are you calling Maheep aunty?' Arrey bhai, have you never joked with your friends? That's so stupid. Main toh muh pe bolti hu and Maheep tells me, ‘I'll whack you'."

About the Controversy:

For unversed, during one of the episodes of 'Fabulous Wives Vs Bollywood Wives', Riddhima Kapoor revealed that she had a childhood crush on Sanjay Kapoor, Maheep's husband. Well, she also mentioned that she wondered what she should call Sanjay, as back in her childhood days, she used to address the actor as uncle. Meanwhile, Maheep asked Riddhima not to call her 'aunty', or else the former would beat her. For the same, Riddhima was called out by the netizens for age-shaming Maheep.
