The controversy stems from a fiery moment in Splitsvilla X6 grand finale where finalists Niharika Tiwari and Sorab Bedi were called to the ‘witness box'. ‘Mischief Maker' Nia confronted Niharika over her claim that she was biased, asking her to specify when she had ever shown bias towards any contestant. “Biased hone ke liye kisiki existence ke baare mein pata hona chahiye. This was my very first time on Splitsvilla. Did I know anybody before this show? No. Did I know you, Niharika? Not at all, babe," said Nia, to which Niharika quipped, “Mujhe bhi aap nahi pata thi (I didn't know you before this show either)."

Nia then said that if she is questioning the host of a show, she should make sure she has concrete proof and evidence to back her claim. “No one is biased, we don't have the authority to be biased. Now you are famous, within 3 months span. I have been here 15 years. I have seen the highs and lows," said Nia.
