Munawar Faruqui Heads to Mumbai Amid 'Death Threats': Reports

Comedian and reality show star Munawar Faruqui is making headlines again. His life was reportedly under threat. On Sunday, the police received intelligence inputs about the same. The incident took place at the IGI Indoor Stadium and The Suryaa Hotel in south Delhi, where Faruqui was staying. 

Munawar Faruqui Gets Death Threats: Reports

Following a coordinated operation, Faruqui left for Mumbai. The police received information late Saturday night during an investigation into a shooting incident at Greater Kailash-I, which resulted in the murder of businessman Nadir Shah.

The suspects revealed that they had been instructed to conduct reconnaissance of The Suryaa hotel for a targeted murder. They carried out the reconnaissance multiple times but were not informed about the target. Later, they were asked to kill Shah, which they executed on Thursday night.

About the Case:

At the hotel, a team led by DCP Pratiksha Godara inspected the area, scrutinized entry and exit points, and verified guests' identities. A hotel staffer mentioned that Faruqui was staying on the first floor, which was thoroughly checked by the police. Security at the hotel was tightened, with plain-clothes officers stationed throughout. DCP Godara asked Faruqui to take precautions, prompting him to leave for Mumbai. Faruqui later explained that he left as he had a flight to catch and chose not to comment on the security issue, citing concerns.

Earlier, Elvish Yadav reportedly got death threats during ECL only. However, there is no official statement about the same, neither by him nor by the police.
