Karan Johar Confirms Bhuvan Bam's Dharma Debut: "It Was Actually a Big Secret"

Filmmaker Karan Johar accidentally revealed that YouTuber-actor Bhuvan Bam is all set to make his Bollywood debut with a Dharma Productions film.  During a candid chat with comedian Zarna Garg, KJo was busy praising Bhuvan Bam when he casually mentioned, “He's been one of the biggest YouTubers and now he's doing a film for us as the lead actor." Soon after, he realized he shouldn't have said that and clarified it was meant to be a ‘big secret.'

A video clip that is going viral shows Karan Johar saying, “I think I f***ed up big time. I wasn't supposed to. It was actually a big secret, and it was a big reveal at our end. I just messed up big time." When asked to name the movie, he said, “Now that I can't say! Bhuvan, I am so sorry. I don't know how it just came out of my mouth." He further said, “Giving away Dharma secrets on this live for no reason!"

As per reports, Bhuvan will star opposite Wamiqa Gabbi in the Karan Johar-produced film. It is a quirky romantic comedy directed by Sharan Sharma. Bhuvan has previously worked in the web series 'Taaza Khabar'. In an interview with Mid-Day, the YouTuber confirmed the news and said that he was feeling a bit nervous about his big screen debut.

Bhuvan Bam On His Debut Film:

“My aim with this film is that whoever watches it should feel, ‘The guy on the screen is one of our own.' I always want to give them this feeling that wherever they are from, if they work hard and are dedicated enough, they can achieve anything," he said. He further added that he is a ‘pessimist' and gets scared when good things happen to him. “It looks great from the outside that this is happening to a guy from Malviya Nagar, Delhi, who had nothing except a vision that he should entertain people. But the pessimist I am, I get scared when good things happen to me, thinking about whether I'd be able to do justice to it. So, I'm wondering how I will pull this off," he said.

This marks a huge milestone for Bhuvan, from being one of India's most celebrated YouTubers to stepping into the mainstream as the lead actor in a Dharma Production. Fans on social media are thrilled at the announcement, celebrating this leap in his career.

While the film's title is still under wraps, the collaboration between Karan Johar and Bhuvan Bam is already creating major buzz.
