Comedian and television host Bharti Singh recently spoke about the water shortage problem in her residential building in Andheri, Mumbai. Sharing her frustration on social media, Bharti revealed that residents have been struggling without a proper water supply and are relying on packaged drinking water for their daily needs. She also mentioned that the issue has become worse due to the hot weather and delayed rainfall.

Water Supply Disrupted Since Previous Day

According to Bharti, the problem started the previous day and affected essential activities such as drinking, bathing, and household work.

She said, “Kal se pani nahi aa rha hai. Peene ke liye pani nahi hai. Nahane ke liye pani nahi hai. Sirf toilets mein pani hai. We are surviving on bisleri.”

Bharti Shares Her Frustration

In another post, she explained the situation in more detail and said, “We live in a very good building in Andheri, but for the past one or two years, we have been facing water-related problems here. The same issue happened again today. We were informed in the morning that water would come, but nobody told us that it would be available only for such a short time. We could not even understand when the water came and when it stopped.”

Residents Forced to Depend on Bottled Water

Bharti further revealed that there was no drinking water left at home. She added, “Since yesterday, we have finished four to five large Bisleri bottles. We are even being forced to bathe using Bisleri water. Other people living in the apartment are also facing the same problem. The water situation has become extremely difficult.”

Her posts highlight the challenges many residents face when water supply is disrupted without proper notice. The situation has caused inconvenience for several families in the housing society and raised concerns about water management during the summer season.

Mumbai's Water Supply Depends on Rainfall

Mumbai largely depends on rainfall for its water supply, with drinking water coming from seven lakes, including Upper Vaitarna, Modak Sagar, Tansa, Middle Vaitarna, Bhatsa, Vihar, and Tulsi. Delayed rains and increasing demand can often put pressure on the city's water resources.
