Aaryamann Sethi Breaks Silence On Samay Raina Controversy: "It Was Just A Joke..."

Samay Raina recently sparked debate online after taking playful digs at Archana Puran Singh and her family during an episode of 'India's Got Latent'. While some viewers felt the remarks crossed a line, Archana and her son Aaryamann Sethi have now made it clear that they were never offended.

Aaryamann Addresses The Controversy:

In a recent YouTube vlog, Aaryamann thanked those who supported him following the viral clip but maintained that the remarks were simply meant as comedy. “I usually don't say something about all this but I thought we should say something this time just because I feel it's funny. The joke was also funny because, to be fair, when we vlog, we are at home only, so that's not wrong and my mother also does laugh for a living.”

He also shared his thoughts on the criticism surrounding the incident, saying, “People watching comedy have become too sensitive. It's a joke.”

‘He Did Not Mean To Hurt Anyone':

Clarifying his stance further, Aaryamann stressed that there was no ill intent behind Samay's comments. “First of all, let's just point this out: it was a joke. And it's okay. He did not mean to hurt me or anyone in my family.”

He added that he shares a friendly relationship with the comedian and understands that the comments were made in the spirit of humour rather than as a personal attack.

What Triggered The Backlash?

The discussion began after Archana appeared as a panellist on 'India's Got Latent'. During the episode, Samay referenced her family vlogs and joked, “I have seen your vlogs; neither does your husband work, nor do your two 'nalle sons'.”

Archana responded instantly with a witty comeback directed at her sons, who were seated in the front row: “I told you guys don't sit in the front row; this is not how you get fame, this is how you get insulted.”

Archana also echoed her son's views, explaining that comedy often involves playful roasting and should not always be taken literally.

For both Archana and Aaryamann, the matter was never as serious as social media made it out to be. Their message remains simple: the joke was made in good humour, no one involved was offended, and there is no bad blood between them and Samay Raina.
