There was a controversy around Kashish Kapoor's comment on Ganpati Visarjan. What's your take?

Noise pollution is not just from festivals. People party for 12–13 hours at raves. Ganpati is a week-long festivalm learn to tolerate. Kashish did it for relevancy, which is fine, but religion should not be dragged into controversies.

Do you think the audience plays a role in making such people famous?

Yes, our audience gives fame to the wrong people. Kashish got 'Bigg Boss' because of Digvijay's popularity, not her own merit.

What's your opinion on how she reacted post Bigg Boss?

She keeps ranting online, writes bizarre things. I prefer to stay away. Her fans go crazy defending her.

Do you regret reacting to her comment?

No. I felt it was wrong to disrespect a festival. I'm glad sensible people spoke up against it.

Let's talk about your journey. How did you start in showbiz?

I started with reality shows like 'Splitsvilla' because my friends were doing it. I wasn't good at studies, so I tried this.

Did you expect to come this far?

Not at all. I've only achieved 25% of what I dreamt. After 'Splitsvilla', I didn't get the platform I deserved.

How did you deal with that phase?

I went into depression for a year. Then I worked on myself and started a podcast, which got a lot of love.

What message do you have for people chasing fame?

Don't use religion or community for controversy. There are better ways to stay relevant.
