Remember how Zervaan J Bunshah influenced Lay's to reintroduce the original Magic Masala flavor? This time, Bunshah has garnered attention from yet another brand—Parle G.
Internet users were pleasantly surprised when Parle G posted an image featuring influencer Zervaan's face on its packet's cover, replacing the iconic Parle-G girl.
The reason behind Parle G's post:
The post was in response to content creator Zervaan J Bunshah's viral video, where he humorously questioned his followers: "When you meet the owner of Parle, do you address him as Parle sir, Mr. Parle, or Parle G?" The video gained traction, prompting amusing responses from Instagram users.
Parle-G jumped into the conversation, leaving a witty comment on the video. The official Parle-G account commented, "Bunshah ji, you can call us the OG."
Later, Parle-G also featured a smiling image of Mr Bunshah on the biscuit wrapper instead of the iconic girl. "While you figure out what to call the owner of Parle-G, you can call us your favorite biscuit to enjoy with a cup of chai. What say @bunshah ji,'' read the caption.
We caught up with Bunshah for a chat; here's what he shared:
On Being Brands' Favourite:
"Honestly, I'm just lucky that the brands I interact with have a sense of humour and know how to laugh at themselves! I was low-key panicking before they so graciously responded to my video."
On Seeing His Face on Parle G:
Asked about his reaction to seeing his face on the iconic Parle G, he said, "It's a proud moment in my life when I can go and tell my parents that I am the face of Parle-G, even if it was for their generous banter. I am honoured that they thought of engaging with my content by posting such an image.
On People's Reaction:
"They've all had a good jolly laugh, claiming they can't wait to buy these packets if they were to be produced! But yes, everyone is happy and proud. "
When questioned about the increasing involvement of brands with his content and understanding how he raises consumers' concerns through his videos, Bunshah responded, "I just want them to understand that the more they sanitize their content, the more disingenuous it will seem. When brands make fun of themselves, it's a point of genuine connection for the audience as such interactions add a humane touch to the big brands."
