Dhanashree Verma Addresses Rs 60 Crore Alimony Claims After Divorce From Yuzvendra Chahal: "It Was Untrue..."

Dhanashree Verma has addressed the buzz around alimony post her divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal on the reality show, 'Rise and Fall'. She said that rumors about alimony were false.

Dhanashree Verma on Alimony Rumors:

Talking about her split with Yuzvendra Chahal, she told co-contestant Aditya Narayan, “Officially, it has been almost a year. It happened quickly because it was mutual, that's why when people say alimony, it's wrong. Just because I am not saying anything, you will go on saying anything. My parents have taught me to only justify to people whom I care about. Why waste time explaining to those who don't even know you?"

When asked about the length of their marriage, Dhanashree shared, "We were married for four years; we dated 6-7 months before that." On dealing with accusations around alimony, she added, "Eventually, you get hurt when you see that happening. It was not needed. None of it is true. I felt worse wondering why he did it. It's okay, I will always keep his respect, that is what I believe in. Now, I don't think I can date anybody."

Dhanashree's journey on the show has not been easy. Last week, she broke down when her character was questioned, saying, “I have never said anything against anyone on the show, yet I never dragged my personal life on the show. I am told I am getting influenced, but that's not true; I don't like this environment."

Dhanashree Verma's Thoughts On Finding Love:

Earlier, while speaking with ETimes, Dhanashree had shared her thoughts about love and how it cannot be planned. She had said, “Pyaar ki baat karein, toh you can't plan these things. Aap ye decide nahi kar sakte ke main aaj ya ek saal baad pyaar mein padhungi (When it comes to love, you can't plan these things. You can't decide that today or a year later you will fall in love.) Love is a different entity altogether. What matters most to me is mera focus aur main apne life mein aage kya dekh rahi hoon.”

Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal's Relationship:

Dhanashree and Chahal tied the knot in 2020 in an intimate wedding ceremony in Gurgaon. Reports later suggested that the two had separated in 2022. Their divorce was finalised in March 2025. Since the split, Chahal has been linked to RJ Mahvash, primarily due to their social media posts and public appearances. However, both have always maintained that they are only friends.
