Everyone loves a grilled cheese toastie. And when you put a spicy kick such as kimchi into it, it gets even better! Chef Saransh Goila presents us Kimchi Grilled Cheese Toastie – ideal for the person who loves strong flavors, crunch, and plenty of melted cheese. It's the ultimate way to pamper your loved one or wow your secret crush with a spicy and cheesy treat.
What You Will Need for Kimchi Grilled Cheese Toastie
These are the ingredients to prepare this flavor-filled toastie:
- 1/2 tbsp of butter
- 1 onion sliced
- 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
- 1/2 cup of kimchi
- A few handfuls of chopped spring onion greens
- 2 slices of bread
- Cheese grated (as much as you desire)
- Soft butter to apply
How to Prepare the Kimchi Grilled Cheese Toastie
- Place 1/2 tbsp of butter in a pan and heat.
- Add sliced onions and chopped garlic and sauté until light golden.
- Add the kimchi and sauté until it's lightly caramelized. Keep this mixture aside.
- Use two slices of bread and apply soft butter to one side of both slices.
- On the unbuttered side, apply the kimchi-onion mix.
- Add spring onion greens and cover with grated cheese.
- Cover with the second slice of bread, with the buttered side out.
- Heat a pan and add the sandwich. Cook on slow flame until golden brown and crispy.
- Flip and toast the other side in the same manner.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
