Looking for a healthy, dairy-free drink that does not burn a hole in your pocket? Fitness influencer Vanshika Khurana has shared a simple homemade seed milk recipe that costs around Rs 50 for 750 ml and delivers a good dose of magnesium, fiber, and plant-based nutrition.

Made using pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds, this easy recipe is gaining attention among health-conscious individuals, especially those looking for nutritious alternatives to regular milk.

Why This Seed Milk Stands Out:

Unlike many store-bought plant milks that contain preservatives and added sugars, this homemade version uses just two main ingredients: pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds.

Pumpkin seeds are often referred to as "magnesium seeds" because they are rich in the mineral, which plays a role in muscle function, energy production, sleep quality, and overall well-being. Sesame seeds contribute healthy fats, minerals, and additional nutrients, making the drink both wholesome and filling. According to Vanshika Khurana, every 100 ml of this seed milk contains approximately 32 calories and around 2 grams of protein.

How To Make The Milk:

To prepare the drink, soak 4 tablespoons of pumpkin seeds and 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds in water for 4 to 6 hours or overnight. Add the soaked seeds and 750 ml of fresh water to a blender and blend for 30 to 40 seconds until smooth. Strain the mixture through a muslin cloth or fine sieve to separate the milk from the pulp. You can enhance the taste with honey, cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt.

Transfer the milk to a glass bottle and refrigerate. It remains fresh for up to two to three days. The influencer also advises against heating the milk.

Don't Throw Away The Pulp:

The leftover pulp can be just as valuable as the milk itself. Instead of discarding it, add it to rotis, parathas, or pancakes for a fiber-rich boost. It can also be mixed with dates, cocoa powder, and peanut butter to make energy bites. Another easy option is adding one or two tablespoons to smoothies for extra minerals and fiber.

A Smart Dairy-Free Alternative:

Whether you're exploring vegan options, managing PCOS, increasing magnesium intake, or simply looking for affordable healthy recipes, this homemade seed milk offers a nutritious and budget-friendly alternative. With minimal ingredients and maximum benefits, it proves that healthy eating does not have to be expensive.
