How did you start your career in the entertainment industry, and what was your first notable television appearance?

I started my career with a cameo in the show "Kitty Party," which was my first break as an actor. Before that, I worked on ads, with my first being Pradeep Das's Cadbury ad directed by Pradeep Sarkar. "Kitty Party" was my debut in a TV serial, and it became a big hit, marking the beginning of my acting career.

Why did you change your daughter's name from Amyra Mirza to Dityaa Khanna? What is the significance of the new name?

I changed Amayra's name for astrological reasons. When we initially named her, it wasn't aligned with the alphabet recommended in her birth chart. When she turned six, I wanted to name her after Goddess Lakshmi, considering names like Dithya or Gurbani. When we consulted her Kundli, the recommended primary alphabet was 'V'. It felt like a sign, so I chose the name Vidya.

Also, I have given her my surname, Khanna, and she's, you know, free to choose whatever surname she wants to when she grows up, but as of now she's named after my surname and I think that's pretty much OK.

Apart from your notable roles in "Bade Achhe Lagte Hain" and "Qubool Hai," could you describe one of your recent or upcoming projects that you are particularly excited about, and what makes that role special to you?

Currently, I am shooting for "Patti, Patni and Kand" in Lucknow. I've just completed another schedule for a film called "Devdas." "Patti, Patni and Kand" is my first web series, marking my debut in the OTT space. In this series, I play a sharp and exceptional top cop named Naina, who is an IPS officer like a DCP.

The role demands a stern, shrewd, practical, and stiff-lipped character, and that's what I'm currently practicing.

How do you manage to balance your personal life challenges with the demands of a professional career in the entertainment industry?

Balancing two different careers and my personal life can be tricky and exhausting at times. Like everyone else, I experience anxiety and panic attacks. I often feel like giving up but then gather myself and push forward. This is a constant struggle for every working mother and individual handling multiple responsibilities. My story is no different.

Keeping everyone happy, including myself, is challenging. I try to manage things with a routine and discipline. Once you have discipline and a routine, many things become possible that you hadn't even thought of.

How do your spirituality and personal beliefs influence your decisions, both in your personal life and career choices?

Spirituality is a significant aspect of my life, influencing my choices, beliefs, and behavior. It empowers me to take bold and courageous steps in both my personal and professional life. Some people might perceive me as rude, but it's more about not tolerating nonsense. I strive to be humble and grounded, while also being strict about righteousness.

This attitude sometimes affects my behavior, but I believe in conscious living. Although it's a challenging path, I'm glad I'm following it because it aligns with my vision for the future.
