Exclusive: Casting Based on Social Media Followers, I Don't Promote at All: Sunayana Fozdar

Prolific dancer, content creator, and actor Sunayana Fozdar exclusively speaks to whosthat360. In this heart-to-heart conversation, she opens up about her journey in the industry, the mantra of staying relevant, and social media pressure. She also addresses the trend of casting actors based on their social media fan-following.

It's Almost 16 Years: Sunayana

Sunayana was questioned about how she looks back at her journey, to which she said, " I think, It's almost been 16 years, not counting though (Laughs), very few people know that I was a child artist also. I started working at the age of eight. And I come from a very humble background, it's my sisters, mother, and me. Nobody in my family has been involved in this business. This journey has been quite a roller coaster actually because I keep telling people that the education that I have is all on sets...” 

Sunayana's Take on Social Media:

When she was quizzed about making the balance between acting and content creation. She said, “I also believe with time, like earlier there was not that craze of Instagram and social media. But I feel you have to move forward with time. And this is because a lot of TV actors or film actors have started taking their social media accounts seriously which I personally believe is very important. And yes if anyone says, ho jata hai but to be honest it takes a lot of hard work...” 

"Casting based on Followers..."

Sharing her thoughts on number game on social media, Fozdar mentioned, “Definitely there is a certain pressure, these days people are casting in different forms as per social media following, which I absolutely don't agree with. Casting and analyzing talent based on followers, I don't promote at all...”
