Sania Mirza Shares the Challenges of Life After Divorce from Shoaib Malik

Famous tennis player and Influencer Sania Mirza recently spoke about the challenges of life after her separation from Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. She revealed that adjusting to single parenting hasn't been easy, especially since her son, Izhaan, lives in Dubai while most of her work takes her to India.

In her latest podcast, She shared her thoughts that her situation is particularly tough because it involves coordinating life across two countries.

Co-Parenting Across Borders

During the podcast, Sania explained that the hardest part is the constant travel between Dubai and India. She said “I find it challenging to leave him because I live in Dubai and I travel to India. That's the biggest challenge for me,”. Even though her mother takes care of Izhaan when she's away, being apart for a week at a time feels heavy.

The Loneliness After Separation

Sania also opened up about the quiet moments that follow a separation. She admitted skipping dinner sometimes because she didn't want to eat alone. While she joked that it helped her lose weight, her main point was about learning to navigate evenings without company.

Facing Panic on Set

This isn't the first time Sania has discussed the pressures of balancing work and motherhood. In an earlier podcast episode with filmmaker Farah Khan, she recalled a day when she had a panic attack while on set.

Farah rushed to her side, leaving her own shoot behind, and encouraged Sania to carry on. “No matter what, you are doing this show,” Farah told her. Sania described it as one of her lowest moments, yet she managed to continue with the live show thanks to Farah's support.

Adapting to a New Routine

At 39, Sania says she is still adjusting to her new routine. Traveling, managing schedules, and co-parenting from different countries remain challenging, but she is finding ways to balance it all.
