Rahul Vaidya has finally addressed the recent online buzz involving Indian cricket star Virat Kohli and himself. He confirmed that the matter has been resolved after Kohli reportedly blocked and later unblocked him on Instagram.

“I just want to say that the issue is now over. A ceasefire has taken place. And whatever I wanted to say, I've already said it on social media,” Rahul said, making it clear he considers the controversy closed.

He added that a light-hearted joke was unnecessarily blown out of proportion by netizens, resulting in a wave of sensationalism. “I want to say that people took a joke in the wrong direction and sensationalized it. It got so big that my own people started asking me what had happened,” he shared.

Rahul reiterated his immense respect for Virat Kohli, calling him one of the country's greatest achievers. “No one can question Virat Kohli's contribution to our country. He's among our top achievers. You could even call him a Bharat Ratna. His capabilities deserve the highest regard. I deeply respect him,” he said.

While Rahul made it clear that he holds Kohli in high esteem, he expressed concern over the negative turn online interactions have taken especially from some fans of the cricketer. “But the direction some of his fans took was quite negative. They still post such things, but I don't take it seriously. It's social media—today, anyone can say anything to anyone because there's no accountability,” he noted.

He further pointed out the toxicity that often brews on social platforms, including instances of trolling and even death threats. Rahul called for some level of policing or accountability to curb such hostile behaviour online.
