Pankaj Bhadouria Opens Up About Chemotherapy Hair Loss; Says "It Stopped My Breath..."

Celebrity chef and 'MasterChef India' Season 1 winner Pankaj Bhadouria has shared an emotional update from her ongoing cancer journey, opening up about the difficult experience of losing her hair during chemotherapy. Through a heartfelt social media post, the chef revealed that while she knew hair loss was an expected side effect of treatment, facing it in reality has been far more painful than she had imagined.

Pankaj recently shared a picture of herself combing her hair and looking at the strands that had fallen out. Alongside the image, she penned a deeply personal note about the emotional toll chemotherapy has taken on her.

She wrote, “You know it. You are prepared for it. But when it hits you, it hits hard.

I was always prepared for hair loss in the 3rd week of chemotherapy. But when it started happening, it stopped my breath. I was so proud of my thick strong hair and seeing them go like this is turning out to be traumatic. Her candid message resonated with many followers, who flooded the comments section with words of encouragement and support.

Preparing For Treatment:

Even before beginning chemotherapy, Pankaj had mentally prepared herself for the possibility of hair loss. She had chosen to cut her long hair short before starting treatment, hoping to make the transition easier.

Sharing her thoughts at the time, she wrote, “I begin with my chemotherapy. Who knows what chemotherapy might throw my way. Hair loss or not, Let me enjoy what I have, when I have, in the way I want to have."

The chef's openness about her treatment has inspired many battling similar health challenges.

Cancer Journey:

Pankaj first revealed her breast cancer diagnosis on May 28 through a post from her hospital bed. She wrote, “I have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Need your prayers and support."

A day later, she informed fans that she was heading for surgery, saying, “Thank you so much for all the love and support that you have showered on me. Today I am going for surgery and I know I will bounce back. So, once again keep me in your prayers."

Following surgery, detailed biopsy reports detected an invasive 2mm HER2-positive component, leading doctors to recommend 12 chemotherapy sessions along with one year of targeted therapy. While admitting she was nervous about chemotherapy, Pankaj said she would take the treatment one day at a time as she continues her fight against cancer.
