- Proud of her television journey
Fresh off her win on 'The Traitors Season 2', Krystal D'Souza has opened up about being selective with her career choices and the role television played in giving her that freedom. The television star and social media personality revealed that she has turned down several projects over the years because she prioritises quality and personal growth over simply staying busy.
Picking Purpose Over Popularity:
Krystal shared that while audiences only see the projects she agrees to, there are many opportunities she chooses to pass on. "I have been extremely blessed with the kind of work that I have done. But yes, I am very choosy and very picky. Because you only see the work that I do. A lot of work happens that I refuse."
Explaining her mindset, she added, "Because I don't think that for my career or for my self-growth, that work is useful. So, yes, I make very conscious choices. After television, taking that long break, then doing web shows, then doing films."
The TV Money That Changed Everything:
The biggest advantage, according to Krystal, has been the financial stability television provided early in her career. "I feel like all this, you know, the waiting period is very difficult for an actor. When you have no work, you are just sitting at home overthinking that what should I have done? But I think I have made very conscious decisions."

The television star and social media personality further shared, "Thankfully, you know, television gave me so much backing monetarily that I didn't feel that I needed to take up any work." She went on to say, "I can choose the work that I take up because I know that I have made so much money from television that I will be able to survive. So, I owe a lot of my career and a lot of my decisions to TV for this only reason that I made my bank balance from there."
Wearing Her TV Roots With Pride:
Krystal also addressed the perception that television stars are sometimes viewed differently within the entertainment industry. "When anyone says that you have done so many TV shows or whatever, they say it in a derogatory way or whatever, I never find it derogatory because I am what I am today because of where I came from, what that made me."
For her, television remains the foundation of her success and something she takes immense pride in.
Trusting The Right Opportunity:
Krystal recalled waiting patiently for projects she genuinely connected with, including her debut film 'Chehre' alongside Amitabh Bachchan. "It's a dream to work with him once and imagine making a debut with Amitabh Bachchan. I think I really waited for the right nail to hammer, and I have always done that."
Talking about reality shows, she revealed, "Reality shows have come a lot. I haven't done even one. I waited for the right reality show, which I had manifested."
For Krystal, patience, financial independence and trusting her instincts have remained the keys to building a career on her own terms.
