What makes this Ganpati celebration particularly special for you?

This Ganpati marks 16 years of me calling Mumbai my home. Every new beginning in my life started with a prayer to Lord Ganesha, my guardian, my Saviour, and my friend who has guided me every step of the way. Mumbai holds a very special place in my heart, and the way this city comes alive during Ganesh Chaturthi is truly incomparable.

Can you share a cherished childhood memory with this festival that still makes you smile?

I grew up in Ahmedabad, where Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated, but never as grand as in Mumbai. My neighbors, who were Maharashtrian, would bring Bappa home, and as kids, we would be so excited to join in. The idol was always hand-carved from clay, and we loved helping with the decorations. They would make sweets for the entire building, and it was just the most wonderful time of the year

How has your connection with Ganpati evolved over the years, and what significance does it hold in your life today?

My connection with Ganpati has grown deeper with time, from childhood excitement to finding strength and guidance in him as an adult. Today, he symbolizes new beginnings, hope, and an anchor in my life.

What is your favorite aspect of the Ganpati festival, and how do you like to celebrate it?

Ganesh Chaturthi is all about meeting friends and family, marking the start of the festive season. It's a time to celebrate faith, togetherness, and the joy of new beginnings

Are there any family traditions or rituals that you follow during Ganpati, and what's the story behind them?

Though I haven't had the chance to bring Bappa home myself, I hold on to the hope that someday I will. For now, celebrating with friends and family makes the festival truly meaningful.
