Exclusive: Avni Gupta on Winning Miss Diva Supranational 2025

It was a dream-come-true moment for 22-year-old Avni Gupta from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, as she won the Miss Diva Supranational crown! An audit professional by career and a dreamer at heart, she will now represent India at Miss Supranational 2025. We caught up with Avni after her win to learn more about her journey. You balance audits by day and dreams by night. How do you stay grounded in both worlds?

I stay grounded by constantly reminding myself why I started both journeys. Audit taught me discipline and responsibility, while pageantry awakened my creativity and passion. Balancing them keeps me rooted because each side brings out a different strength in me. I've learned to switch worlds with gratitude; one gives me stability, the other gives me purpose. Staying connected to my family and my values keeps my feet firmly on the ground, no matter how high I rise.

Being inspired by your mother, what lesson from her do you carry on stage?

The biggest lesson I carry from my mother is grace under pressure. She taught me that strength doesn't always have to be loud; sometimes it's in quiet resilience, in kindness, and in showing up even on the toughest days. Every time I step on stage, I carry her voice, reminding me to stay humble, to stay soft, and to trust that sincerity always shines brighter than perfection.

What does confidence mean to you beyond appearances?

Confidence, to me, is the courage to show your true self, even the imperfect parts. It's not about always having it together; it's about knowing that your story, your struggles, and your individuality make you unique. Real confidence is being able to stand in a room and not compare yourself to anyone because you know your journey has value. It's an inner calm that comes from self-acceptance.

When did you first realise the camera felt like home?

I realised the camera felt like home the day I stopped performing for it and started expressing through it. It was when I looked at a playback and saw not just poses, but emotions, my real personality coming through. That's when I knew this wasn't just a hobby; it was a space where I felt free, confident, and truly myself.

How do you handle self-doubt while chasing big dreams?

Self-doubt shows up for everyone, especially when your dreams are big. I handle it by remembering the girl who started this journey with nothing but belief. I remind myself of how far I've come, not how far I have to go. I lean on my support system, practise gratitude, and stay consistent with my routines. Self-doubt may visit, but I don't let it stay; my purpose is louder.

One word that describes your energy right now?

Unstoppable.

A habit that keeps you focused?

Every morning, I write down my top three priorities of the day. It keeps me centred, helps me manage both my career and pageantry, and reminds me that progress is made through small, consistent steps. That simple habit grounds my entire day.

What message do you want your journey to send to young girls watching you today?

I want every young girl watching to know that you don't have to choose between your dreams and your responsibilities. You can be both ambitious and grounded, both academic and artistic, both disciplined and bold. Your journey doesn't need to look like anyone else's. If you believe in something deeply, work for it relentlessly, because one day, your courage can turn into your crown.
