Edin Rose On Social Media Trolling: "I'm Pretty Thick-skinned..."

Social media influencer Edin Rose has opened up about social media trolling. Edin talked about the negativity she faces online and admitted that even though trolls bother her, she believes that she is a ‘tough woman'.

"I'm A Tough Woman..."

Speaking to News18, she said, "Honestly, trolling and hate come hand in hand with fame, success, and a career in the spotlight. I'm pretty thick-skinned and knew this was bound to happen, so I mentally prepared myself before getting into this industry. Of course, I'm only human, and it bothers me once in a while. But then I remind myself of all the positives, how far I've come, and how blessed I am. When I fill my thoughts with positivity, I stop dwelling on the negatives. Sometimes, when it gets too overwhelming, I pray and cry, and it eases my heart. After all, I'm a tough woman."

"I Dislike When People Drag My Family Into It..."

She added, "The worst has been when someone said that a girl like me deserves to be raped and die. As someone who has experienced abuse in life, the rape comments really get to me. I also deeply dislike when people drag my family into it—I love my parents, and I didn't sign up for this career for my loved ones to be spoken about in such a vile way."

"I Always Wake Up Positive The Next Day..."

Edin admitted that comments like these take a toll on her mental health and shared, "As someone who has anxiety, there have been nights where I've struggled, where I can't even open my eyes because they burn from how much I've cried. But honestly, it's a once-in-a-while thing. I always wake up positive the next day. I play with my cats, I pray, I watch movies, I speak to my parents over the phone, and I reconnect with my childhood friends from Dubai. These little things always make me feel better."

Edin further called social media trolling "very sad and unfortunate" and gave a befitting reply by calling them ‘insecure losers'.

"I would say that no matter how much they hate me or choose to troll me, I'm still in a better place in life and a better position in my career than they'll ever be. Half the time, they're faceless and spineless, so what more could I expect from a bunch of insecure losers? I'll always be way above them," she concluded.
